Galatians: Embracing God’s Freedom and Diversity

by | Jan 31, 2022

“The Church is still learning, growing, and discovering what it means to be the People of God. This is especially seen in the Book of Galatians. God had just ushered in a new age through the work of Jesus and the sending of the Spirit. We often refer to this new age as the Kingdom of God, the resurrection life, or new creation. As a result, there was a profound and reality-shifting change in the community of Jesus followers. Now, new people from every identity, social status, ethnicity, gender, and nationality were now being included into the People of God. Questions swirled around the early church plant in Galatia such as: How do we handle this?; What does it mean to include others?; What about our traditions and law?; What do our scriptures say?” Maybe you’ve asked those same questions. In our new series coinciding with Black History Month, Galatians: Embracing God’s Freedom and Diversity, we’re exploring the diversity of the church and the freedom we’ve been given in Jesus.”
