It’s easy to get connected at Wellspring!  Here are 3 simple steps:

Groups

At Wellspring, we want everybody to be a part of a group. Why? Because we realize that groups are where transformation happens. To grow spiritually, you have to be connected relationally. That’s why groups are such a big deal at Wellspring! When you join a group, you will spend time socializing, learning, and praying together. Whatever your story, style, season, or interests, there is a place for you!

1. Choose a group that works for you!

  • Focus Studies – If you’re looking to strengthen your marriage, parenting or finances, join others that have the same focus and desire! We rotate topics throughout the year!
  • Bible Studies – Deepen your relationship with God and friends in a Bible study.
  • Community Groups – Connect and build relationships with people who love doing the things you love to do!

2. Sign Up!

Remember the Group(s) name and register for a group below.

3. Show Up!

You can expect to receive a confirmation email within the week, and a welcome message with meeting details from the group leader. All you need to do is show up!

Group Listing

Groups are a great way to meet new friends, have fun together, grow closer to God (no matter where you’re at on your spiritual journey), and connect with opportunities to make a difference in the community around you. You’ll find people who are friendly but not obnoxious, spiritual but not creepy, people who don’t take themselves too seriously, but want to make the most out of life.

Hugs (Hearts United in God's Spirit)

H.U.G.S. (Hearts United in God’s Spirit) is a Christian Women’s Book Study. We share a safe covenant that ensures everyone that we have a safe place to share.  We are committed to growing in our faith by navigating our lives together.  We are always open to new women of all ages, each week.

Our new study is “Don’t Sing Songs to a Heavy Heart,” by Kenneth C. Haugk, Ph.D. Kenneth is a pastor and clinical psychologist and the found and Executive Director of Stephen Ministries. Have you ever wondered what to say or do and what not to say or do to someone who is hurting? Kenneth refers to Proverbs 25:20 that says, “Like one who takes away a garment on a cold day, or like vinegar poured on soda, is one who sings songs to a heavy heart. This book will touch your heart, expand your thinking, and guide you in bringing Christ’s loving care to hurting people when they need it most. Come and join our safe and honest discussions on how to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who are hurting.

Peer Support Group

Wellspring is hosting a Peer Support Group for those struggling with Anxiety and/or Depression.

For those unfamiliar with this type of a group, peer support groups are not facilitated by medical practitioners or licensed therapists. They are facilitated by trained professionals with “lived experience” who are willing and able to share their story to help others facing similar problems. During the group, members have the opportunity to share and listen to one another, provide & receive helpful insights, learn different coping strategies, and (perhaps, most importantly) to see they do not need to fight this battle alone.

Date and Time: 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 6:30pm (Starting Wednsday, November 20, 2024)
Length: Ongoing
Location: In-person; Room 100
Wellspring United Methodist Church, 1217 Wolf Road, Oswego IL
Leader: Sarah Turner

Better Together

Want to meet new friends and enjoy fellowship with one another outside of our church building? Here’s your opportunity! One of the best ways to get to know your church family is to share a meal together in your home.

“Better Together” gatherings are a new small group activity sharing food and fellowship with one another. Hosting not for you? No problem! You will be paired with others in your group that can.

Here’s how it works:
1) Six to Eight names (couples will be placed together) are randomly chosen for each group in Round 1. Each round is for 3 months, meeting with the same group as often as your group desires.
2) The Hospitality Team will coordinate the groups and provide guidance and assistance as needed.
3) Your group will decide:

  • Meet for lunch or dinner?
  • Determine the first Host(s) and date/time/location of 1st gathering.
  • Host provides the main course.
  • Guests divide up who will bring a salad, a vegetable, and dessert. Add bread, appetizers, etc. if you need additional items to bring.

Our experience with these dinners provided lifelong friends we would have never met otherwise. We hope you will enjoy the fun and fellowship together!

Date and Time: Group/Host determines
Length: Ongoing
Location: In-Person
Leader: Diane Chastain
