Wow! We’re just days away from launching Wellspring United Methodist Church!
So why now? Why plant a church at all?
It goes without saying that 2020 was a strange year. In a lot of ways, it feels like the world has been knocked back on it’s heels. Division, health crisis, political turmoil, injustice, economic calamity and more have become trademarks for 2020. Yet, when we look to church history, we find that it is in times of hardship and strife that the church can shine its brightest.
At Wellspring, we want to make a real felt impact in our community. We want to be involved in ministry that is gospel-centered and holistic, meaning it is about making redemption known through good deeds (justice & mercy) and good news (outreach & discipleship). This is why our mission is “to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”
Imagine a movement of people living in response to the good news of the gospel. A people living on mission with God – moving toward the hurt and the broken, showing love to our neighbors, and supporting the marginalized. Now imagine that community in a 2020 world. That’s why we’re here planting a church.
Whether you are near or far, you can take part in this new journey.
You’re invited to celebrate the launch of this new community online on Sunday, January 3rd at 9:30am. You can find our service through our YouTube Channel, the Wellspring Facebook page, and on our streaming page.
